What to Look For When Applying For An Auto Loan

In the market for a new vehicle? Whether it is brand-new or new to you, there are a couple of things you should look for when applying for your auto loan.

Budget

Before you even step on the lot at your local dealership the first thing you should know is what you can afford. The last thing you want is to fall in love with a car and then realize that it is out of your budget. Using our Home Budget Analysis tool, you can find out what monthly payment will fit in your budget.

Once you know what monthly payment fits into your budget, use our Car Loan Calculator to find out what that monthly payment means for your purchase price. You can also call and talk with one of our Lenders, who would be more than happy to assist you in finding the right payment and purchase price for your budget. Knowing this information will make shopping for your new vehicle much more enjoyable!

Shopping

This is the fun part! Equipped with your budget numbers you can now go to your local dealership and find the right vehicle for you!

Applying

Once you have your car picked out give your Frontier Bank Lender a call and get the auto loan application started.

The application process is simple, you will need to fill out the written application with your personal information and contact information, verify your income (W-2s, Tax Returns, Paystubs), and lastly provide details on the vehicle.

For the vehicle information, you will need to provide the make, model, year, mileage, and VIN Number. This information helps the Frontier Bank Lender finalize the loan documents.

After a quick credit check, your loan documents will be ready to go! It usually takes between 20-45 minutes from the application to when you are signing your loan.

Driving

Once you have signed your loan documents, take the cashier’s check to the dealership and drive off in your new ride!
