helpful Documentation
The following documents will be needed in order to evaluate your financial situation completely:
- A hardship letter describing why your mortgage is unaffordable (e.g. why your income is reduced or expenses increased)
- A current personal financial statement
- Copies of your most recent income tax returns
- Proof of household income including monthly pay stubs, any rental income or documentation of other monthly income
- Information about assets
- Information about debts (balances, line limits and required payments)
- A current mortgage payment statement
- Information about any subordinate lien mortgages on your home
Depending on the situation and type of assistance we may be able to offer, further documentation may be required.
SCAMS
Beware of foreclosure rescue scams that offer counseling services for a fee or request that you transfer over the deed to your house to "save" it. HUD-approved housing counseling services are available at no charge. Additionally, you should never make your mortgage payments to any organization or individual without the approval of your mortgage company.
